The idea for this directory was born out of a simple need: I was looking for someone to do some work on my home and didn’t know where to start. I began calling family and friends, hoping someone could recommend a trusted business. To my surprise, they didn’t know anyone either—but they all asked me to let them know once I found someone. That single search turned into a conversation, and then into a realization: there was no central place to find and support Black-owned businesses.

That experience sparked the creation of this directory—a living, breathing resource designed to grow with the community. Word of mouth has always been one of the most powerful forms of advertising, but imagine the impact of having a central hub as the first stop—where businesses are easy to find, and the community can follow up with trusted references from friends and family.

Too many amazing Black-owned businesses operate in the shadows, lacking the visibility they deserve. This platform was built to change that. It’s about exposure, connection, and communication. It’s about putting our businesses front and center so that when you need a service or product, you know exactly where to look.

This is more than a directory—it’s a movement to uplift, empower, and connect. And as the community grows, so will this space. Together, we’ll make sure no business goes unrecognized.
